I'm a Storyteller....

Produced, Published, and Award Winning...

Curiosity, Imagination and Life Experiences, have provided me with continuous inspiration and unique views. My wild, and wildly varied, experiences include:

Theater, Film, TV, Radio, Documentaries, Flash Mobs, Mime Troupes, founding Production and Improv Groups, performing with my heroes Rodney Dangerfield and Robin Williams, creating Indy Films, Original Music, multi-ton works of Metal Art. Attending over 400 concerts, over 20 schools, standing before the US Supreme Court, appearing on Oprah, Awarded by President Obama ... and did I mention Rodney Dangerfield? And I've backpacked to over 30 Countries. (Wanderlust is real!) Visiting studios and producers, along the way; Bavaria Studios, Munich, Cincecitta, Rome, Sasani Studios, JoBerg, on location in India seeing Bollywood in action. Boom mic atop an elephant, a person holding a reflector flag because, as a producer told me, a person was less expensive than buying a stand. - I’ve been a Bartender, Postman, Roofer, Landscaper, Carpenter, Scout Leader, Baseball Coach, Self Defense Instructor, Swimming, Acting Coach and a Public-School Teacher. I’m a bit of an adrenal junkie – a Scuba Diver, Cliff Diver, Sky Diver, Kickboxer, survived a Border War in South America, toured the LA Riots on my motorcycle, Hollywood, Korea Town, South LA, video camera rolling while I rode. - My way of distracting, and relaxing, my mind is having it blown - trying to follow Theoretical Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Neuroscience, Geopolitics…

I’m into Philosophy too, everyone from Aristotle to Voltaire to Jim Morrison. I’m a Father, Metalhead, Athlete, and Malcontent… A Writer. – This, rant-like, bio is my way of providing insight to the origin stories of my written stories.

~ And as Marco Polo said on his deathbed - "I have not told half of what I saw" ~

Action Adventure

Character Driven Drama

(“Best Writer” award from LA Neo Noir Film & Script Festival)

A Bohemian Martial Artist finds his life as a peace-seeking recluse come to an end once he's forced to fight illegal “ambush bouts” to save the life of his estranged  brother. - A cross between Fight Club (but with ambush instead of both sides agreeing to fight) and Goldfinger (in as much as the villain's, bad-ass, henchwoman betrays her boss after falling in love with the hero)

Character Driven Drama

The (mostly) True Story of a struggling Indy Film Director, whose star-studded, Hollywood journey from irreverent productions to the worst day of his life; where losing his job, girlfriend, grandma, apartment, production and car, all lead to getting shot by S.W.A.T. being the biggest break of his career. - Elements similar to Falling Down (where a good guy snaps) and Swimming with Sharks (with its insights into the Entertainment Industry)

Horror

Biographical / True Crime

Biographical / True Crime

A kid with erratic psychic abilities joins his older brother, and his brother’s college friends, on a spring break adventure in the Yucatan where they take part in a local traditional ceremony, expecting something sexy and salacious, but instead encounter a death cult from another dimension. Pays homage to the genre, with a lot of fun cliches, while also being totally original. - With elements of the Scream films (with moments of humor and tributes to the genre) and Jacob's Ladder / Altered States (as an important plot point is an hallucinogenic ceremony)

True story of my father, told as an Epic; growing up in the late 50’s / 60’s (Stand By Me / American Graffiti) Serving as a Pointman and Sniper in Vietnam (Apocalypse Now) Returning home a war hero, awarded Bronze Stars and Purple Hearts, only to be shot in the back and paralyzed by a drunk off-duty police officer weeks after returning home. His best friends are murdered at the same time. A long battle with City Hall ensues (Born on the Fourth of July) that includes intrigue, cover-ups, corruption and standing before the US Supreme Court. Except for my father; wheelchair bound, never to stand, or walk, again.

Series

The true chronicling of a quirky group of friends, circa 1987 Los Angeles, whose lives passionately revolve around music… especially Heavy Metal. - A genre ripe for good stories, yet to be told. With many of the bands still touring and generations of rabid fans who spend a lot of time and money on all things “Metal”… concerts, music, books, branded alcohol, dating sites, online stores with an astonishing variety of merchandise, even cruises! Authenticity is key. Fans can tell a “poser” a mile away and will shun anything inauthentic. I’m linked into the community. A veteran of over 500 concerts, have discussed this project with Lars (Metallica) and Slash (Guns ‘n’ Roses). Each episode opens on a specific upcoming show, and the events leading up to it. Ending with a very short 2 min. segment by the real musician discussing that particular show or tour.

Three salacious life-journeys of a hedonistic libertine:

1) Sex and Drugs and my Senior Year

2) Sex and Drugs and my Hollywood Year

3) Sex and Drugs and my Year at Sea

Women in this series are empowered participants, not one dimensional sex objects. Drug use is prolific but not glamorized. Three Years, told over Three Seasons, but there are more unique years, and seasons, if the audience wants more. - All True Stories - Names have been changed to protect the privacy of the participants. - A cross between Californication, Weeds, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High... and for part 3, The Love Boat (but more like The Lust Boat)

Reality Series

Travel and Adventure - (self-contained format)

Two Contrasting Travelers:  -M.H. a fussy, elitist, erudite and T.S. a mellow bohemian backpacker. They are The Odd Couple of travel.

Same destinations, “High End” and “Low End” options. First Class vs. Discount. The best hotels and resorts, vs. hostels and $5 a night beach hammocks. One's a wizard at finding the cheapest travel, meals and adventures. The other demands the best regardless of cost.

Based on my real adventures to over 40 countries. Noticing people are equally fascinated by my backpacking thru Africa, Europe and Asia on a few dollars a day, AND my experiences at the very best 5-star hotels, butler service meals with Celebrities, Presidents and Royalty.

Episodes end with the pair tallying up costs as they enjoy the sunset together - Some later options might include: The travelers switching places. Viewers having a chance to be on the show.

Human Interest - (self-contained format)

A CA registered 501c Non-profit, that takes underprivileged kids

out of gang plagued, and other distressed, neighborhoods

and exposes them to nature, art, other cultures and alternatives.

Built in drama from the start, navigating the bureaucracies of a non-profit by people who love nature and children but know little about running a charity. And most intriguing are the dramatic lives the kids are living, surrounded by violence and poverty, and the stories they share. Seeing their transformations are heartwarming and often happen surprisingly fast, as they gain an appreciation for nature and realization that they do have options beyond their neighborhoods

and the low expectations of those around them.

Reality Sketch Series - - - - Rom Com Feature

In 1996, an idealistic group of Gen X malcontents produced one season of a Sketch Comedy Show called Generation neXt, that aired locally in Los Angeles and world-wide thru Deep-dish TV.

This new series begins with tracking them down to see what they're doing now. Some are unknown, some have kids, some still perform. One operates a music studio in Maui. One has gone on a spiritual journey to Tibet, bouncing between different temples and philosophies. One backpacked the world before going back to school, and becoming a public-school Teacher. - Once reunited, they explore still unresolved issues they riled against 30 years ago. Tasked with writing and performing new sketches, while inter-cutting clips from the original series. Like a behind the scenes look at SNL, Mr. Show or Kids in the Hall, except first locating, then following, the cast, showcasing their current dramatic lives and big reunion. Then on to following their journey conceptualizing and performing the sketches.

More edgy than a typical Rom Com, but Jennifer is a stereotype. She had a sheltered, shallow life, revolving around money, material possessions and maintaining her profile. Her friends, equally bereft of empathy and gravitas, are even worse.

She meets Dannon and he rocks her world - and her bed!

A case of  opposites attracting. He is an idealistic, iconoclastic, free-thinking malcontent. Friends, and other outside pressures, lead to the end to their hot but brief affair. Once away from Dannon, Jennifer starts to see her world with new eyes. She no longer fits in with her plastic friends and family. She rebels and finds herself at a protest rally, compelled to speak on stage, where she runs into Dannon.

It is “Love at Second Sight”.

End Credits Roll: Time Lapsed - They're married by a Shaman, strolling with adorable tie-dye shirt wearing twin toddlers, living in a cabin... Happily Ever After.
